Teen appears in court after woman, 68, stabbed

A teenage boy has appeared in court after being charged in connection with a serious assault on a 68-year-old woman.
Northamptonshire Police said a 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was arrested after the woman sustained a stab wound to her leg on Foskitt Court South, Bellinge, Northampton, just before 12:00 GMT on 12 February.
The teenager was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife or sharp-pointed article in a public place.
He was remanded into secure accommodation after a hearing at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Friday and will appear at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
