Fire crews in Lancashire were called to two separate house fires on Christmas Day.

The cause of the first blaze, which began at about 03:20 GMT in Lytham St Annes is under investigation, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said.

Four fire engines attended the property on Kenilworth Road and used a ladder platform, breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets.

The second incident happened just after 14:30 GMT at a home on Pilmuir Road in Blackburn.

Two fire engines attended the scene and firefighters used breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation and two hose reels to put out the fire, LFRS said.

Crews were at the scene for three and a half hours.

There were no reports of any injuries at either incident.
