A river burst its banks flooding a main road and fields as Storm Amy brought heavy wind and rain to parts of the UK.
The River Duddon spilled on to the A595 north of Millom in Cumbria causing difficult conditions for vehicles on one of the few major roads in the area.
Cumberland Council said there was flooding in several locations along the road from Ravenglass to Duddon Bridge and highways teams were working to clear the standing water.
Sandra Kruger, who drove through the floods, said the water was flowing fast across the road and nearby fields were "completely full", while waves created by traffic were "threatening any low-riding vehicles".
Ms Kruger had travelled over the Duddon Bridge, towards Millom, when she came across the flooding on the main route around the west Cumbria coast.
The council has advised motorists to reduce their speed and take extra care.
Storm Amy has brought heavy rain and wind speeds of up to 100mph (160kph) in some parts of the UK.
An Amber weather alert has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland and the north of Scotland, where some roads have been closed due to high winds.
