Ex-police officer bailed after rape charge

A former police officer accused of raping and kidnapping a woman has been released on bail ahead of a trial next year.

Paul Brown, of Storksbill Road in Corby, who previously served with both Northamptonshire Police and the Metropolitan Police Service, is also charged with one count of stalking and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour.

Under the terms of his bail, Mr Brown must not enter Corby, will be monitored by GPS, is permitted to carry only one mobile phone, and must not contact witnesses connected to the case.

He is due back at Northampton Crown Court on 21 November for a further pre-trial hearing with a trial fixed for 2 March 2026.
