An NHS trust is to launch a new free-of-charge park and ride service.

Members of the public will be able to park at one of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust's free car parks and use a bus service to its hospitals.

The trust said the service was a "more sustainable way" to visit Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

The initiative is to be launched on 1 January 2025.

Buses will run every half an hour from Monday to Friday, starting at 06:40 GMT and ending at about 21:00, depending on the hospital.

Free parking at the hospitals will continue for blue badge holders, cancer and renal patients, and parents of babies in the neonatal unit, the trust said.
