A man died in a crash on a motorway slip road on Wednesday morning, police have said.

At 06:15 BST a Smart car was involved in a collision with another car near junction one of the coastbound M20.

The Smart car was then involved in a further collision with another car on the slip road from the M25, joining the M20.

The driver of the Smart car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

South East Coast Ambulance Service and three fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) also attended the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses for anyone who saw the crash or any of the cars prior to the incident.

Anyone who has dashcam footage is being asked to send it to the force.

The M20 coastbound was closed for multiple hours between junctions one and three, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

National Highways announced the road was reopen in both directions at around 18:00 BST.

It advised motorists to allow extra time if travelling in the area as delays of 55 minutes on the A20 eastbound between the A223 and M25 and M20 remained.
