A man has been taken to hospital and a 42-year-old male arrested on suspicion of drink driving after three cars crashed in Nuneaton.
The crash on Tuesday happened shortly before 06:00 BST at the junction of Pipers Lane and the B4114 Coleshill Road near Ansley Common.
Warwickshire Police said a grey Ford Puma, white Mercedes and red Ford Ka were reportedly involved, with the Ka driver sustaining a "serious injury to their leg".
"The driver of the Mercedes allegedly appeared as if intoxicated and was arrested to be tested for alcohol in custody," the force added.
He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at 05:53 BST and sent three ambulances.
"The driver of one car, a man, sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment on scene before being conveyed to [hospital] for further care," a statement said.
It added the male drivers of the two other cars were assessed but did not require hospital treatment.
