The set design of hit new film Wicked displays a spooky resemblance to a Sussex landmark.

The iconic dome windows of Brighton's Royal Pavilion were replicated on the big screen to "create a fantasy room"

Brighton Museums posted on social media that they hoped the film would encourage people to visit the iconic building.

They said production designer Nathan Crowley admitted to Architectural Digest that he had been inspired to recreate the "onion" dome's windows at Shiz University.

Hedley Swain, chief executive of Brighton & Hove Museums, said: "The Royal Pavilion is an amazing, stunning building which has inspired many artists, film-makers and designers throughout its history.

"We welcomed the team from Wicked to the building and they loved the Indian-style exterior and Chinese inspired interior.

"It is wonderful to see how they have used the historic windows and domes to create a fantasy room for key scenes in the film.

"We hope lots of people watch the film and then come to visit the Royal Pavilion."
