A 17-year-old boy has been released on conditional bail following an alleged bomb hoax at a school, police have confirmed.

St Brendan's Sixth Form College in Bristol was evacuated when a member of staff called police just after 15:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Firearms officers, a dog unit and specialist search teams were sent to the school, where the teenager was arrested.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said officers visited the college on Tuesday to provide reassurance. The force will continue to work with staff to support the faculty and students.
