First vehicle charging station at petrol forecourt

Jersey Electricity (JE) said a new station had been installed

The first public electric vehicle charging station on a petrol forecourt is now available in Jersey.

Jersey Electricity (JE) said the new station had been installed at the Co-op in Sion, St John.

JE bosses said the chargers were in a "central location" for people to use.

Werner Bornman, director of technology at JE, added it was a "concept we aim to replicate elsewhere so all vehicle owners can access charging facilities in convenient locations".
