Armed police attended after machete-wielding robbers stole a bike in Pershore on Sunday

  • Published

A man who arranged to meet someone to buy his motorbike was confronted by a group of balaclava-wearing robbers who threatened him with a machete before taking the machine.

It happened on St Andrews Road in Pershore, Worcestershire, on Sunday at 17:30 GMT.

As one of the offenders snatched the Huskavana FC250, four more fled the scene, police said, in a gold or brown-coloured car heading towards Pershore Abbey.

The West Mercia force, which deployed an armed police response, said an investigation was under way and urged the public to get in touch if they saw the incident or had CCTV or doorbell footage which may help inquiries.

People are advised to contact DC Cleaves by emailing lewis.cleaves@westmercia.police.uk or by calling 101 using extension 7742050.
