Measures to improve road safety to be introduced

Safety measures are being considered for a road where four people died in four years.
Improving safety at Puddock Road in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire is part of a scheme by Cambridgeshire County Council to make travel across the county safer.
A 40mph speed limit buffer zone could be introduced alongside a camera enforced closure to restrict access to people who live or work in the area.
Alex Beckett, chairman of the highways and transport committee, said: "There are many complexities... we want to make the road safer, given the history, and we are looking at the most suitable option."
There were four fatalities on the road between 2016 and 2020.
Last year, the highways and transport committee agreed a £700,000 budget for the scheme but it was told that putting barriers along the section of road where incidents had previously occurred would have cost £1.8m.
Liberal Democrat councillor Mr Beckett, hoped the changes would "reduce the likelihood of any further serious incidents".
In January a 30mph speed limit along Puddock Road between Forty Foot Bank and Ramsey Hollow was approved.
In 2020, Marion Bunyan, 54, and her daughter Jennifer Bunyan, 24, were killed when their car left the road.
Miss Bunyan's unborn child, Erin Chatten, was also killed.
Ilze Dobele, 46, and Ingrida Dudeniene, 47 from Spalding, died after the Mazda they were travelling in, plunged into a ditch in October 2017.
Safety improvements will be discussed by the highways and transport committee on Tuesday.
