Four people have been arrested following a confrontation between a group of people carrying weapons.

Avon and Somerset Police officers were called to Timsbury Road, in Bedminster, Bristol, just before 19:40 BST.

One person was taken to hospital after reporting a suspected head and facial injury and two others sustained minor injuries.

"A road closure has been put in place while emergency services respond to this incident," said a police spokesperson.

The Air Ambulance attended the scene, but was not required to transport the casualty to hospital.

The spokesperson added: "A police presence remains in the area to provide reassurance to the local community and while investigative enquiries are carried out."
