Wiltshire in pictures: Reunions, sunflowers and maize
- Published
At any point, there are dozens of photographers out and about in Wiltshire capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport and live entertainment.
Some of the best images captured from across the county this week include reunions, sunflowers and Olympic-themed mazes.
Here is a selection of images taken in the county over the past few days.
True love: Terry and Jean Eyre, who have been husband and wife for almost 74 years, were reunited at a care home in Melksham.
The 94-year-olds who "hold hands constantly" were separated in 2020 after Mrs Eyre suffered a stroke and was placed in a nursing home.
Their daughters kept the plans secret from the couple as the arrangements for moving Jean were complex, and they did not want the couple to get their hopes up and be disappointed.
Summer has arrived: Tom Collins, who owns land in Kington Langley near Chippenham, has just opened a pick-your-own sunflowers at Lodge Farm.
The farm's spokesperson said: "There is thousands to pick and thousands left to bloom."
Dream day: Rich, Jodie and Amelia, from Chippenham, enjoyed their first day out in years this week.
Three-year-old Amelia has spent much of her life in hospital waiting for a heart transplant.
The family-of-four visited Bristol Zoo Project for a fun day out.
No-go: At the start of the week, the new Labour government scrapped the £2bn project to build a two-mile road runnel near Stonehenge.
The scheme along the A303 in Wiltshire, which was agreed by the previous Conservative government, had faced a number of legal challenges from campaigners.
Bringing home gold: Rosalind Canter, Laura Collett and Swindon-born Tom McEwen secured Team GB's first gold medal at the Paris Olympics this week.
The trio celebrated the victory in Monday's eventing team jumping final.
Amazing: A seven-acre Olympic maze made of maize has been created at Antsy PYO and Farm Shop in Salisbury.
The team behind it said it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour-and-a-half to complete. Could you do it?
