A second man injured in a shooting in Wolverhampton has died in hospital, police said.

Duaine Mills, 28, was killed and 32-year-old Syed Zain Ali wounded when shots were fired on Leicester Street in Whitmore Reans at about 03:10 BST on Friday.

Mr Ali was taken to hospital where he died on Wednesday surrounded by his family, West Midlands Police said.

The force has already named Mohammed Maneer Khan, known as Manny, as someone they wanted to speak to about the incident.

Speaking earlier this week, detectives said officers had made "a number of attempts" to find and arrest the 38-year-old, but were now asking for the public's help.

On Thursday, Det Insp Joe Davenport from the force's homicide team said: "Tragically a second life has been lost and we are continuing to work 24/7 to establish the full circumstances and to trace the person responsible."

He urged the public to assist "ongoing efforts to bring Khan into custody".

"The families of both these men, Duaine and Syed, are devastated and we remain absolutely committed to getting them the justice their loved ones deserve," the detective said.

The force added an increased police presence would remain in the area.
