How can I get to Radio 1's Big Weekend?

More than 10,000 music fans are due to arrive in Luton for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2024 between 24 and 26 May.
Headlined by Coldplay, Raye and Chase & Status, it will be held at Stockwood Park.
Luton Borough Council, which helped to organise the event, said local residents and businesses would be impacted and a traffic management plan was in place to ensure public safety.
Here is a guide about getting to and from the sell-out festival.
What roads will be closed?
A large number of roads will be closed near to the event at certain times and a full list can be found on the council's website, external.
Residents living on these roads will be allowed to travel in and out but would need to apply for it though the Residential Protection Zone (RPZ), external scheme.
Emergency vehicles will also have access.
Checkpoints will operate on 24 May, from 10:00 BST to midnight, and on 25 and 26 from 08:00 until midnight.
When will road closures be in place?
Roads in Luton will not be closed for the whole period, but mostly at peak times as people arrive and leave.
Specific dates and times will be signed locally but estimated times have been released.
On Friday closures and reopening are set to be phased between 10:00 and 02:00, but town centre road closures may remain in place for longer.
For Saturday 25 and Sunday 26, into Monday, phased closures have been estimated between 08:00 and 01:00.
When are sound checks and can the music be heard?
Residents should expect some noise disruption.
Sound checks and rehearsals are due to take place on Thursday 23 May at 16:00 and on Friday between 12:30 and 14:00.
On Saturday and Sunday, they will be between 09:00 and 10:30.
Music may also be heard from the event itself between 14:00 and 23:00 on Friday, and between 10:30 and 22:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

It will be operational:
15-23 May from 08:00 to 20:00
24 May from 08:00 to midnight
25-26 May from 08:00 until 23:00
27-29 May from 08:00 to 20:00
Where can I park?
There is no parking at the site and surrounding roads are restricted to residents who have have applied for a permit.
Any vehicles that do not have a permit will be fined and could be towed.
There are a small amount of bookable "park and walk" spaces, that have been endorsed by Luton Borough Council, but they need to be booked in advance., external
Where is pick up and drop off?
As visitors will not be able to drive close to the site, a friends and family pick up and drop off point has been arranged.
It can be accessed at the entrance to the Business Park at the Capability Green fountains roundabout (LU1 3LU) and is about a mile (1.6km) walk to the park via a well lit and stewarded route.
For anyone using a taxi, black cabs can drop music fans in the town centre and other private hire taxis can be dropped off at Capability Green Business Park.
When the event finished, a dedicated taxi pick up point will be at Inkerman Street.
You will not be able to call Ubers to pick up around this site.
How else can I get to the park?
Stockwood Park is about one mile (1.6km) from Luton Town Centre.
Walking routes from the town centre to the entrances will be via Farley Hill Road and Cutenhoe Road into Stockwood Park.
For cyclists, there is a route from the town centre, via London Road, to free bike parks . The Green Gate is at the main entrance, and the Red Gate is next to the Rugby Club.
Anyone biking is advised to stick to the approved routes and road closures will be in place on Farley Hill Road and Cutenhoe Road.
For anyone using trains, the park is about a 1.5 miles from Luton Railway Station.
People are advices to plan their journeys as Thameslink, external and East Midland Railway , externalservices are expected to be busy over the weekend.
Luton bus services, external will operate from Luton Busway Interchange and will be affected.
There will be no service via Farley Hill Road and limited bus services on London Road. To see a full schedule of services, visit the Luton Council Website.
There will be additional bus services after the event from the Luton Busway Interchange.
What time does it start?
On Friday 24 May gates will open at 14:00 with a main stage performance at 16:00.
On Saturday and Sunday the gates will open at 10:30 with a main stage performance at13:00.
Gerard McCleave, corporate director for inclusive economy at the council, said some disruption will be caused.
"For those living in the immediate vicinity, who will be most impacted, we hope they can understand that we are doing the best we can to keep this disruption to a minimum."
He asked everyone to be patient and information would be shared on its website , externaland social media accounts.
