House damaged in early hours arson attack

A house has been targeted in an early morning arson attack, police have said.
Officers added there were no casualties during the attack, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Damage to the property, in Poplar Road in Thornaby, was described by detectives as serious.
Appealing for information, a Cleveland Police spokesman said: "The fire caused substantial damage to the front of the house, and thankfully nobody was hurt."
