Man arrested in city centre over imitation firearm

Police were called to Market Passage in Cambridge early on Thursday morning

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a city centre.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary said it was called to Market Passage, Cambridge, at about 05:00 GMT on Thursday, after a man was seen carrying a gun or weapon.

Armed officers attended and a 57-year-old man was arrested. The weapon was found to be an imitation.

The man, from Cambridge. remained in police custody, the force added.
