Splash park remains closed to public after flood

A water play area in a Coventry park remains closed after a flood in the pump room.
The council said Splash and Play in War Memorial Park was shut after the incident caused "significant damage" to the main area that powers the feature.
A Coventry City Council spokesperson apologised for the inconvenience and said it knew how "disappointing" the closure was for children of all ages.
The water play feature is usually open throughout the school summer holidays.
"The play feature was installed in in 2004 and there were already plans to do much-needed repairs," the council added.
Mother-of-one Tara told BBC CWR the closure was "disappointing".
"It's never consistently open," she said. "We came last summer. It was closed one day, open the next. It's never consistent."
Dhiarn, eight, from Warwickshire, said he "felt a little bit sad" the play area was closed.
"People want to be cooled down in the summer holidays and basically at parks you don't get that, but at this park you do.
"It's a special treat."
