Container storage site planned next to school

SecureStor hopes to create a 24-hour storage facility next to Bowling Park Primary School

More than 120 steel containers could be placed on land next to a primary school if plans submitted to Bradford Council are approved.
SecureStor Ltd wants to create a 24-hour storage facility on the site of the former Bradnet Centre at the junction of Usher Street and Wakefield Road in the city centre.
Plans state the company would also erect 8ft (2.4m) high perimeter fencing around the site, with a 6.5ft (2m) high automatic gate at the western corner.
A decision on the application is expected in October.
The facility would be made up of 122 separate steel containers placed around the site and create three full-time jobs.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the land is next to Bowling Park Primary School and yards away from the school's play area.
The Bradnet Centre was demolished in 2016, with two proposals submitted for the site since then.
A plan to build a unit to sell paint to the motor trade was approved in 2017 but never built.
Plans to build two industrial units on the site were approved in 2021, but work never started.
