Two men have been arrested in connection to a stabbing in an alleyway in Chichester.

A 29-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds in an alleyway behind Exton Road on Tuesday and taken to hospital, where he remains in a "serious but stable" condition.

A 28-year-old man and 20-year-old man, both from Chichester, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after being tracked to an address in Brighton on Wednesday, said Sussex Police.

Det Ins Rebecca Hopkins said the police force was not seeking anyone else in connection to the incident.

Both suspects remain in police custody.

An increased police presence remains around Exton Road following the incident at around 13:50 BST on Tuesday, the force said.

Det Ins Hopkins added: "This has been a fast-moving investigation, and I would like to thank the public for the help they have provided us so far.

"We continue to urge witnesses or anyone with information such as CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage to come forward to help with our investigation."

The incident does not pose a threat to the wider community, the force added.
