Man dies after house fire

A man has died after a fire broke out at a house in Leeds.

Emergency services were called to the property in Haighside Close, Rothwell, at about 05:15 BST on Sunday.

The victim, in his eighties, received treatment from ambulance staff but was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

West Yorkshire Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and that the man was the sole occupant of the premises.
