Armed officers were called to a residential street in Nottingham after gunshots were heard.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers attended Blundell Close, in St Ann’s, at 12:25 BST on Thursday and pulled over a car nearby.

Three men, two aged 20 and an 18-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of affray, and the force is now investigating what happened.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and would "particularly like to hear from anyone who saw a grey pick-up truck driving in the area in the moments before and after this incident".

Det Sgt Alana Scott said: “As our investigation continues residents will notice an increased police presence in the area and are encouraged to talk with our officers if they have any concerns.”
