Three men have been charged after an off-duty police officer was attacked in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police said the Leicestershire sergeant was repeatedly punched in the attack in King Street, on 7 October last year, but his injuries were not serious.

The men, from Mansfield Woodhouse in Nottinghamshire, have been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 3 May.
