Over £500k to be spent on traffic lights upgrades
- Published
Traffic lights are to be upgraded at busy junctions in Hereford over the coming months.
Government funding of £541,000 will be used to replace sensors on traffic lights and reconfigure traffic signal controllers to make them more efficient, Herefordshire Council said.
Among those affected are traffic signals at Aylestone Hill through to Commercial Road junction, as well Widemarsh Street, Commercial Road and St Owen’s Street junction and Whitecross Road at the Eign Street A438 junction.
Councillor Barry Durkin said the improvements would help to improve traffic flow and safety.
He said: "This is further investment in our road network. Upgrading the traffic signals at busy junctions will ensure they can be better coordinated across the whole road network."
