Police revved up over illegal motorbikes
Illegal bikes seized by Warwickshire Police
- Published
Police in Warwickshire say they will keep tackling the illegal use of motorbikes and e-bikes after seizing more than 70 in a crackdown.
Two police operations were carried out over the summer and saw action by officers from Warwickshire, West Midlands and Staffordshire forces.
As well as targeting areas where anti-social riding was taking place, officers also used intelligence gathered from the public to track offenders and then seize illegal bikes from their home addresses.
PSCO Demi Smith, of Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Since we started [the operation] we have seized 32 bikes (in North Warwickshire) and more than 40 bikes have been seized by our teams in Nuneaton and Bedworth."

Dob Em In is an online reporting tool
Operation Rosepool targeted offenders in the north of the county, while a second called Operation Undertook concentrated on Nuneaton and Bedworth.
Much of the information about trouble spots in the county came from the public using an online reporting tool - Dob Em In - to let the police know when and where incidents were taking place.
Addressing the public, PCSO Smith said: "We know how concerned people are about nuisance bikes and we will continue to tackle the problem.
"You can provide information through the Dob Em In reporting system, external or by contacting us directly.
"Future operations are planned and the information you provide will help us target these."
