A community work of art, created using a vintage photo booth, has gone on display in Ashburton.

Artist Kate Tyler wanted to capture a snapshot of the people in the town.

A total of 450 residents, visitors and pets came along over the course of four weekends to have their photos taken.

The piece has more than 550 picture strips measuring 30m (98ft) and is on display across three venues in Ashburton.

Ms Tyler said the project was "a celebration of the people of Ashburton", adding the community interest in it "has been amazing".

"It was such a wide range of people that took part and that was one of the really lovely things about it.

"From newborn babies to one lady who was 97 - every age, every walk life - which was great and not just humans, dogs as well.

"We have 19 dogs in total and you know the dogs and the kids really were the stars for me," she said.
