Man 'threatened to burn families' homes down'

A man has been arrested after allegedly making racist threats to a women and children.

Gloucestershire Police said he approached two families, who did not know him, and shouted racist abuse at them on 1 August in Gloucester Road, Stonehouse.

The man, in his 30s and from Stonehouse, also lunged towards a 12-year-old child and threatened to assault him before making threats to burn down their home, police said.

He was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of common assault, using threatening words and behaviour and causing criminal damage, and has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
