Six arrested after 75kg of ketamine seized

Police found the drugs while carrying out warrants in Tamworth

Six people have been arrested after police seized about 70kg of ketamine believed to be worth more than £1m.
Staffordshire Police carried out warrants in the Wilnecote, Perry Crofts and Polesworth areas of Tamworth, Staffordshire, on Thursday.
Officers said they found the class B drug ketamine along with 0.5kg of cocaine, a quantity of cannabis, £2,500 in cash and two firearms.
Five men and a woman, all from Tamworth and aged between 20 and 49, were detained. Police said all but one of the suspects, who has been bailed, remained in custody.
The woman and three of the men were arrested on suspicion of importing and being concerned in the exportation of a class B drug. One of those men was also held on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate.
A fourth man was suspected of several offences including conspiracy to import a class B drug, possession with intent to supply a class A drug and possession of a weapon in a private place.
A fifth was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs.
