A pedestrian in his eighties is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van.

Emergency services were called to Poplar Road in Warmley, South Gloucestershire, at 08:23 BST following the serious collision which involved a white Ford Transit van.

Avon and Somerset Police closed the road while investigations took place and re-opened it at around 13:00 BST.

Witnesses and people with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident are asked to contact the force.
