A detective has described a paedophile given a 25-year jail term for raping a child as "incredibly dangerous".

Shaun Bolingbroke, 32, of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was jailed by a judge at Cambridge Crown Court on 23 July.

Jurors found him guilty of raping a child under 13.

He had admitted a number of other offences, including making indecent photographs of children.

Det Con Annette Renwick said: “Bolingbroke is an incredibly dangerous offender.

"I hope this sentence gives (his victims) and their families some comfort and the opportunity to move on with their lives.”

Police said a search of Bolingbroke's mobile phone "uncovered" more than 50 "illicit images" of children.

He has also been given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
