Further arrest after woman injured in street attack

A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in an attack in a Nottingham city centre street.

The 19-year-old victim suffered a bleed on the brain and swollen jaw in Milton Street at about 03:00 GMT on 30 March.

Nottinghamshire Police said a 20-year-old man was arrested on last Thursday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The arrest followed the an appeal to trace a man recorded on CCTV, the force said.

Police said the injured woman, who was on a night out with friends, was taken to Queens Medical Centre for treatment after an altercation with a group of men.

A 19-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, in connnection with the attack.

The force said both men had been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.
