Second teen charged over stabbing of 16-year-old boy

A second teenager has been charged after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Birmingham.

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Pretoria Road, in the Bordesley Green area, at about 15:30 GMT on Saturday.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery.

He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning and was due to appear at Birmingham Youth Court on Thursday.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition, according to police.

Another boy, 16, was charged on Tuesday with wounding with intent, possession of a weapon, and attempted robbery.

About 200 people gathered on Pretoria Road on Sunday to protest against knife crime.
