Two arrests after disorder in city centre

Two teenagers have been arrested following disorder in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police said it made the arrests after it engaged with a group of youths in Old Market Square at about 17:45 GMT on Monday. It added no weapons were seen at any stage and the group was quickly dispersed.

The force said it received reports that a tram door was damaged and the service was temporarily affected while the disorder was dealt with.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, and a 16-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of obstructing a police officer in the execution of their duty.

Officers said the pair remained in custody while the force continued with their inquiries.

Old Market Square is currently hosting the city's Winter Wonderland attraction.
