Duchy of Cornwall unveils green homes plan

Plans to build 10 sustainable homes on St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly, have been unveiled by the Duchy of Cornwall to meet "urgent local needs".

The development in Telegraph will include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties.

The homes will be reserved for people who have lived on the islands for more than five years or are currently employed there, said the Duchy.

High insulation standards, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging points are also included in the homes with work due to start in October and end by winter 2026.

Diana Mompoloki, land steward for the Isles of Scilly, said: "We're pleased to be continuing our investment into the community by providing sustainable homes that meet urgent local needs.

"These homes reflect our commitment to supporting people, places, and the planet, and contribute to our goal of reaching net zero."
