Dogs allowed in shopping centre for first time

Owners have been asked to clean up after their dogs if they go to the toilet

People can bring their dogs with them into a shopping centre for the first time in 35 years.
From Tuesday, more than 70 stores at Harlequin in Watford will display a "dog friendly" sticker in their windows to indicate that pets are welcome.
It is the first time that non-guide dogs have been allowed into the centre since it first opened in 1990.
Simon Plumb, centre director said: "This is just one of the many ways we're creating a space that's fun and inclusive for everyone."
Bowls full of water will be available around Harlequin for when the furry friends need refreshing.
Dogs cannot be left unattended, must be kept on a non-extendable lead and cannot use the escalators.
Owners have also been reminded to clean up after their dogs if they need the toilet during their visit.
Staff have the right to refuse entry to pets who do not follow the rules and cause a nuisance for other visitors, the shopping centre says.
