A motorbike rider is in a critical condition in hospital with life-threatening injuries, several days after a crash in Staffordshire, police said.

The emergency services were called at about 20:30 BST on Wednesday to Gorse Lane, close to the roundabout on Woodend Lane in Fradley, near Lichfield.

The crash happened just after 20:15 BST, the force said, and involved a white Yamaha motorcycle.

The rider, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance and officers said they wanted to speak to a passing runner who stopped to give him first aid.

Anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage from Gorse Lane was also urged to come forward.
