A man spotted carrying two machetes in the street has prompted a police appeal.

Nottinghamshire Police said the man was seen with the weapons in Nabbs Lane, Hucknall, at about 15:20 GMT on Friday.

The force said it had since increased its presence in the area and liaised with a nearby school to "provide reassurance" as it trawls through CCTV footage to identify the suspect.

Ch Insp Chris Sutcliffe said it was believed to be an isolated incident.
