CCTV is set to be upgraded at a play park in Bideford which had become a target for vandals.

Two cameras will replace the existing one at the site in Victoria Park which received a £280,000 revamp from Torridge District Council in 2024.

The new equipment was attacked six months after being installed when blue masonry paint was thrown over it and surrounding surfaces, resulting in the park having to be closed for several days.

The attack caused an outcry on social media from parents and residents.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the cameras are due to be installed in the next couple of weeks.
