A swan was treated at Vale Wildlife Hospital, external, near Tewkesbury, after it was brought in coated in pollution, unable to fly or feed itself. But staff at the animal centre used special detergents and a lot of patience - scrubbing each feather individually - to clean the swan, rehabilitate it and release it.
And Salisbury Cathedral's, external annual pet service was a "triumph" with animals including dogs, guinea pigs and tortoises in a religious ceremony.
