A new tug boat to help around the island's harbours has been bought by the Ports of Jersey (POJ).

Devout is a small multi-purpose tug which will support boats getting into the harbour in bad weather and to help with repairs.

POJ currently has five vessels in its commercial workboat fleet, which it said generated an income of £7.6m in 2024.

Marine operations manager Fleur Moisan said: "Over the next few months, she will undergo a makeover as she transitions into her role with us.

"The team is looking forward to carrying out the necessary maintenance and familiarisation training, to ensure she is fully operational for her duties in and around our harbours."
