Three people have been charged with the murder of a man in Lancashire.

A 24-year-old man and two women, aged 21 and 43, were held over the death of Paul Scott at a house in Blackburn in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the house in Peridot Close at about 03:40 BST by the North West Ambulance Service.

A post-mortem examination found 37-year-old Mr Scott had died from a single stab wound.

Liam Donlin, Annie Clegg, 21, and 43-year-old Joanne Maxwell, all of Lynwood Avenue in Darwen, have been charged with murder, Lancashire Police said.

The force said all three would appear at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Det Ch Insp John McNamara said: "First and foremost, my, and my team's thoughts remain with Paul's family and loved ones at what is an incredibly difficult time.

"Three people have now been charged with murder in connection with Paul's death, but our investigation is very much ongoing.

"If you saw anything or have any footage that you believe could help our enquiries, even if you think it is insignificant, please do the responsible thing and get in touch."
