Man charged with attempted murder after attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a street attack in Derby that left another man in a critical condition.

Officers were called to Abbey Street at about 19:20 BST on Wednesday to reports a man in his 20s had suffered serious injuries.

Police have charged a 26-year-old man with attempted murder and he was due to appear at South Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The force added that the man who was injured remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Officers "remain keen" for witnesses, information and footage of the incident.
