BBC Radio Devon presenters have set off on the second and final day of a 1,000-mile (1,609km) three-legged charity challenge for Children in Need.

Caroline Densley and Michael Chequer plan to walk 12.5 miles (20.1km) while tied to a different person, which have included volunteers and staff from Children in Need-funded projects, over the course of the two-day fundraising challenge.

On Wednesday, Densley will be walking around Plymouth and Devonport, while Chequer will be doing his miles in Torquay and Paignton.

Both said they were looking forward to the second day, especially as the forecast was drier compared to Tuesday when they got "absolutely soaked" in the rain.

The pair said they were feeling a bit sore after walking half their target distance on Tuesday.

"Yesterday morning when I was feeling really cocky I said I'd just done a mile and felt a bit smug," Densley said.

"This morning, I feel quite the opposite - my legs ache and I'm quite tired."

Chequer said he was "feeling positive" about day two, despite having a few aching muscles.

"Yesterday I was feeling really nervous about it and whether I'd be able to do it and today, yes I ache, but I did it yesterday and I feel I can do it again," he added.

People walking with the pair on day two include Matt Newbury, creative director of the Agatha Christie Festival, and Bryony Chalcraft from YMCA Plymouth and Ocean City Runners.

Densley's route will take in parts of the South West Coast Path into Plymouth's Royal William Yard before heading to Foulston Park in Devonport.

Chequer's route starts along Torquay seafront before going to Paignton's pier, harbour and velopark.

He said getting to chat to the people tied to him was the best part of the first day.

"We got to meet lovely inspirational people and it makes you realise everyone's got a story to tell and it was lovely talking to them."
