Teacher jailed over sexual relationship with pupil

A teacher has been jailed for sexually touching a teenager while she was a pupil at his school.
The girl, who is now an adult, came forward to police years later to say she felt she was groomed by Craig Hill during her time at Hall Park Academy in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
In August, Hill, 46, of Mornington Crescent in Nuthall, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity by a person in a position of trust.
He was jailed for 32 months and given a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.
Future 'tainted'
The court heard the girl approached Hill as she was struggling with her lessons.
Extra tuition was offered and this led to sexual encounters outside normal lesson hours and in a school cupboard.
Passing sentence, Judge Stuart Rafferty said Hill should have been aware of any feelings from the girl.
"If you thought that was happening, or there was a risk of it happening, all you had to do was kindly and firmly show her the door.
"Then report to your colleagues that things had become uncomfortable and you were concerned for your position.
"The fact you did not do this speaks volumes.
"Every day for her and everything she does is tainted by what happened with you.
"But of course you didn't think about that at all".
