Motor vehicles have been permanently banned outside a primary school in Derby at drop-off and pick-up times.
Derby City Council said it would introduce a school safe haven zone from Monday at Castleward School, Canal Street, following successful trials of the scheme in a bid to improve air quality and safety for students.
Restrictions will apply from 08:30 BST to 09:00, and from 15:00 to 15:45, Monday to Friday, except for permit holders.
The Labour-run authority said vehicles would not be able to access Canal Street between London Road and Carrington Street during these times.
The legal order would be in effect in the zone during school term times only, the council said.
The council said a one-way system had been introduced on Canal Street, along with alterations to the Carrington Street junction, to reduce through traffic and improve pedestrian safety.
The previous one-way system on Carrington Street, westbound between Canal Street and Trinity Street, had been removed, the authority added.
Councillor Carmel Swan said: "We're incredibly proud of the positive impact that our School Safe Havens have already had, and I'm thrilled that we're expanding the benefits to the Castleward School community.
"This isn't just about reducing traffic; it's about making sure that our children are safe outside the school gates and enabling healthy habits from a young age by promoting walking and cycling."
