Man arrested over suspected assault on boy in park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a boy in a city park.
Officers were called to a report of an attack in Old Yardley Park, at the junction of Queens Road and Sedgemere Road, Yardley, Birmingham, on Friday, West Midlands Police said.
After being assessed, the force said the child was not seriously physically injured. The suspect, aged in his 40s, is in police custody while inquiries continue.
The force said its investigation was at an early stage and asked the public to avoid speculation over what happened and "any potential motive".
