Essex Police said it was investigating two fatal crashes that happened on Saturday night.

Officers were called to a collision between a motorcycle and a car on London Road in Leigh-on-Sea at about 19:00 BST.

The force was later called to the B1022 near Pods Wood in Tiptree at about 21:45 following a collision between a pedestrian and a car. The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Officers appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the collisions to come forward.

The families of the motorcyclist and pedestrian were being supported by officers, police added.

Meanwhile, a man has also died in a single-vehicle crash in Clacton on Saturday.
