A man was assaulted near the Co-op in Leyburn's market place, police said

A teenage boy has been arrested after a man was pulled from his car and attacked in a North Yorkshire market town.

The 30-year-old victim was yanked from his vehicle before being knocked to the ground in Leyburn's market place at about 19:00 BST on Monday evening, police said

The man was treated in hospital for a broken jaw. The teenager was arrested and remains in police custody.

North Yorkshire Police appealed for any witnesses, or anybody with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
