An injured seal pup has been rescued by the RNLI and British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

The seal pup, which is believed to be under a week old and separated from its mother, was on the rocks on the Porthcawl seafront near the lifeboat station.

It was underweight with injuries to its fore flippers, chin and was severely malnourished.

The seal pup was taken to the lifeboat station for further health assessment and is now being treated by the RSPCA before being released back into the wild.
